4/6/2023 0 Comments Octane macProcessing Power Any given GPU has a number of cores and a standard clock speed, similar to a CPU. ![]() At the high end, 56 Xeon CPU threads with up to 1.5TB of out-of-core memory surpasses (by far) the maximum scene capacity available on even the most expensive GPU rendering nodes on the public cloud. Zip closure provides easy access and a quick exit in emergencies. Octane itself supports CUDA on the Mac, but macOS cut off official NVIDIA compatibility after High Sierra, so only older NVIDIA cards Macs running High Sierra or earlier will still work. The Octane X on Mac Pro will support up to 400 GPUs over network rendering. Adjustments to materials, lights and camera can be made and viewed interactively as well. A scene render is continually updated in the Render Viewport. Now it is being used in feature films, commercials, and even architectural rendering. Octane Standalone consists of four primary regions in the standard interface (Figure 01). Octane was developed by a New Zealand-based company called Refractive Software, Ltd in 2008, and was later taken over by the Company OTOY in 2012.
